3 Dermatologists - Approved Skincare Tips | LM Clinical

We understand how important good skincare is not just from a clinical point of view but also from an individual's point of view. I think we can all agree, we all dream of incredibly, healthy and glowing skin, however it isn’t that straightforward to find what works for you.

It goes without saying that you should always drink plenty of water to keep you and your skin hydrated, make sure you are getting enough sleep and to wash your face regularly.

But, what really gets you those dreamy results that we are all after?

1. Use The Correct Cleanser for Your Skin Type -

No two skin types are the same, therefore, it isn’t a one size fits all situation, unfortunately. If you have an oily or acne-prone complexion or maybe even dry you will not require the same cleansing needs as somebody with dry, mature skin, so it is always important to know your skin type and what cleanser is best for you.

2. Don’t Over Do it With Products -

Piling on too many skincare products at once is something you really need to avoid doing!

By overloading the skin, this can in fact result in more damage, more breakouts and clogged pores. Dermatologists recommend keeping your skincare routine as simple and effective as possible to receive the best results.

3. Avoid Touching your face -

This step is one of the most important tips to follow. Although touching your face may come as a natural habit, by doing this, you are not just spreading bacteria but also causing breakouts upon the skin. In fact, by touching your face, this can lead to scarring, increase wrinkles as well as the flu and other contagious viruses.

4. Drink Plenty of Water and Moisturize -

Hydration is a vital element within a healthy skincare routine as a lack of hydration obviously leads to less radiance and causes your skin to sag more. As well as making sure that you are drinking at least 8 glasses of water, you also need to ensure that you moisturize daily to prevent the above issues.

By following these steps, your skin will look healthier, youthful and glowing for much longer than if you were to leave the skin to dehydrate.

5. Exfoliate Regularly -

Naturally your skin will produce a barrier of dead skin cells that build up over time and eventually clog up your pores. Therefore, it is essential to exfoliate a few times a week, to relieve the skin of this dead skin barrier to allow for moisturizing products to sink deeper into your skin to achieve the most effective results.

By adding a regular exfoliation into your weekly skincare routine, your skin will be left feeling much smoother and feeling a lot healthier and fresh. However, don’t be too harsh when exfoliating or do it too often as this can damage the outer layer of your skin.
